POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:    HVAC INSIDE SALES / CUSTOMER SERVICE

DEPARTMENT:       ENERGY PRODUCT SALES

REPORTS TO:         Energy Products Sales Specialist

FUNCTION: To provide a high level of customer service and ensure all branch customers and sales team are promptly, courteously, and helpfully attended to beyond the customers expectations.   Additionally, to achieve the building of market share with sales and service responsibility in assigned accounts that includes pricing, communicating product and vendor information, handling technical questions, coordinating complaints handling, and maintaining close communication with the EPS.[read]

RESPONSIBILITIES:

What is expected of you

You represent the company to the customers, providing product assistance as well as helping them solve their problems.  You initiate a series of actions that involve most of the other people in the company – from warehouse to accounts receivable, and they depend on your accuracy to do their jobs properly.  Everyone in the company depend on you for the information they use in doing their jobs. You are expected to assist Outside Sales Representatives (OSR) and Customer Service Representatives (CSR) with technical and knowledge assistance. To maintain a high level of technical ability through continuing vendor education. It is your job to become a trusted technical resource for our customers, other Torrco salespersons, and our suppliers. The EPS will assist with and execute energy product heat losses/ gains and system designs for our locations and their customers.

The paragraphs below will tell you what we expect of you – what it means to be doing a good job in Energy product inside sales and support.

Duties Common to All Positions

Some duties, attitudes and practices are common to all positions at Torrington Supply and are expected of all employees.  These include:

Volunteering to help in any job function (not my job is never spoken)

  • Promoting the branch and company to customers, peers, suppliers, and community
  • Attend to customer needs eagerly and quickly whether by phone or in person
  • Working as a team player
  • Being cooperative with other team members and being willing to offer assistance.

 Planning Activities:

  • Periodically meet with the EPS to review sales results, set sales objectives, develop sales strategies, plan special projects, implementation, and timing to include new products and marketing promotions.

Duties Specific to Energy Product Inside sales Support

The following are duties, attitudes and practices specific to branch counter/inside sales.  All members of our branch counter/inside sales team are expected to:

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of our product lines and stay current on changes and improvements in the lines
  • Develop and maintain proficiency on the computer programs: Loopcad, Wrightsoft, Microsoft Office and Lg MV/VRF
  • Work actively with field sales on account planning and provide information to grow accounts
  • Deal quickly, courteously, and efficiently with customers over the phone and in person if needed.
  • Enter orders and quotations completely and accurately.
  • Provide pricing and product information to customers and Torrco sales team promptly and accurately.
  • Handle special orders, will-calls, and non-stock item orders.
  • Deal with, and follow through on, customer inquiries and complaints
  • Handling pricing including price negotiation in conjunction with the Inside Sales Manager or the outside salesperson assigned to the account.
  • Gather, record, maintain, and analyze account information to identify sales strategies and objectives appropriate to the account.
  • Prepare bids and conduct sales call follow up.
  • Process requests for literature.
  • Review all order activity in the account base.
  • Handle and resolve all customer service issues including problems with returns, invoices, pricing, deliveries, etc..

You may, from time to time, be asked to perform other duties that are not listed here.

Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Actively sells and cross-sells Company products and services.

Reports any positive or negative feedback to management.

Has a constant awareness of company safety policies and actively seeks to eliminate hazards in the work place.
